Picking out a honeymoon location is usually a fun activity, but with so many places in the world to visit, it can be a tough choice to make. You and your husband or wife try to think of each location and how it will cater to your wants. However, there can be some conflict in what place in the world will give you and your partner everything you both desire. If there is one location in the world that can maximize a romantic atmosphere with beautiful cities and towns, it is Italy.

Italy honeymoons is one of the most romantic times of you life and Italy is a cultural staple of Europe. With hundreds of small villages and cities with an amazing history, a couple will have an exciting time anywhere in this country. Known for their cuisine, their Roman era to Renaissance architecture, and the love of romance, any location in Italy from Sicily to Tuscany can fulfill a honeymoon dream.

The capital and largest city of Rome is just one of the many locations to go to in Italy. The city is multi-faceted, with its ancient Roman architecture, to its gothic buildings from the height of Roman Catholicism, and art that idealizes the Renaissance beliefs of humanity. Museums will be filled with some of the most popular artistic works in human history and cathedrals are adorned with a splendor not seen anywhere else in the world. If you are a religious couple, neighboring Vatican City is right near Rome and a spiritual experience for devout believers.

If you want a more countryside location, the island of Sicily, is steeped within its own cultural traditions. Wineries and orchards line this island with large private estates. The city of Palermo is the cultural and commercial center of Sicily and will offer many amenities as well as beautiful churches and Renaissance locations.

Another location that is unique and helps provide a picture image of a perfect Italian honeymoon is the city of Venice. Venice and Venetian culture idealize romance, especially with the legendary gondola rides across the city. The gondola is a noteworthy transport system in Venice, where the high rivers that run through the city are used for private boats. A rower will help row you and your new spouse down these rivers as you gaze at Venice’s city landscape.

Heading further north toward Switzerland is the region of Tuscany. Tuscany as a region is the home to Florence, the epicenter of the Renaissance and its art, philosophy, and culture. But, besides visiting this noteworthy city, a honeymoon in Tuscany can include trips toward the countryside where many Italian wineries are located. Almost every smaller city than Florence also boosts historically important centers that are considered the best in Italy. Fashion is also strong in this region, as Tuscany is one of Italy’s many fashion capitals. A trip around Tuscany offers couples the chance to stay in small quaint towns that are historically rooted in their Renaissance architecture.

To soak in the Mediterranean sun, honeymoon couples can always stay in one of the many towns and villages off the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast is located across southwest Italy. The Mediterranean waters will cool one’s body as the hot Mediterranean sun shines across the entire coast region. All the cities and towns in this area of Italy are often built on the hilly mountains that stand right on the shoreline.

These destinations only cover half of the potential places to have your honeymoon in Italy. As one of the most important countries in Europe, an Italian honeymoon can fit anyone’s personal wants and desires for their special time as a newlywed.

Sometimes it seems as though finding a great deal on a vacation package is akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. It’s out there, somewhere, but it doesn’t seem as if you’ll ever find it. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to save a bundle on vacation packages that don’t require a never-ending, difficult search.

First, consider going on vacation outside of the peak tourist season, as this is the number one way to slash the cost of your vacation package. While peak tourist season varies by destination, it’s usually dependent on a few things. Summer vacation in the northern hemisphere means kids are out of school, so many families are forced to take their vacations during this time. Summer also means that the weather is warm, so many beaches and cities are crowded with tourists hoping for great weather. Many places have their peak season at the opposite time. Places such as the Caribbean have their peak season during the winter, when tourists hoping to escape dark, dreary, and snowy days at home flock to the beaches in droves, leading to rising prices. Peak season can also involve any kind of holiday, such as Christmas or New Year’s Eve, or festivals such as Mardi Gras in New Orleans or Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro. Basically, to get a good deal on a vacation package, stay away from peak tourist season if at all possible. This doesn’t mean that you have to visit a destination when the weather is poor, but it does mean that you should think about going during the shoulder season. Shoulder season is usually in between low season and peak season, when there are fewer crowds, lower prices, and the weather is still very good. This is the time when airfares drop, and it’s easier to find a good deal on a hotel. Think April, May, September, or October.

Another great way to save on a vacation package is to purchase at the last minute. This can seem like a dicey prospect – after all, what if you wait too long and the prices are too high? While that’s true in some cases, as long as you don’t have your heart set on going to a specific destination, waiting until the last minute to purchase a vacation package can be a great idea. There’s always a good deal available to somewhere, so as long as you’re okay with not knowing where you’re going until the last minute, this can be a great way to save a lot of money.

If you want to save money but don’t want your vacation to feel like you’re on a budget, consider saving money by purchasing a vacation package to a destination that’s cheaper overall. Many countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia, India, Columbia, and Argentina, to name a few, offer exciting experiences for a fraction of the cost of many destinations in Europe or North America, even when factoring in the more expensive flight. Purchasing a vacation package usually means that you’ll be able to get a few nights in a hotel for the same cost as the flight alone, and because these countries are less expensive on average, you’ll be able to afford a more luxurious hotel. Not to mention that once you arrive, you’ll be able to afford to eat at nicer restaurants, go shopping more often, and take part in more activities than you would if you had decided to vacation at a more expensive destination.
