Destination: Denver, CO

My Trip:

I had forgotten that not only is Denver known as The Mile High City, it’s also the Queen City of the Plains. It’s actually at the foot of the Rockies, as opposed to IN them. Which turns out to be a great thing: One day you can drive for miles of beautiful flat plains and the next day you can drive through some incredible mountain scenery. It’s also a quick hop to great towns like Colorado Springs (home of the US Air Force Academy) and Golden (home of the Coors Brewing Company). And just twelve miles outside of Denver you’ll find the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre – my reason for being there in the first place (Dave Matthews ROCKS!). But even if you never left Denver city-proper, there is still so much to do. If you’re a football fan, you have to score a ticket for a Broncos game (good luck with that) and if you’re a theatre fan Denver has the largest arts complex in the world (four city blocks!). Plus there are countless bars, clubs and restaurants that could keep me happy for months!
