Destination: Bodega Bay, CA

My Trip:

I’ll admit it. I spent a lot of my time in Bodega Bay pretending to be attacked by birds like that little kid in the Hitchcock movie. It’s really hard not to do, although all the townies think you’re an idiot. If you’d like to be subtler than I, you can actually eat at the diner in which they filmed the movie. When not annoying my friends by screaming at seagulls, I spent my time at this gorgeous hotel - The Inn at the Tides. My guest lodge overlooked the bay and the Pacific beyond, and I relaxed all day on the amazing grounds just taking in the unbelievable scenery of the secluded and rugged Sonoma Coast: cliffs that rose straight up in front of me, blankets of fog rolling up and over, and every morning, a romantic mist that had crept in overnight. It’s an incredible little town, except for those blackbirds that keep congregating on the jungle gym…
