Destination: Alderson, WV

My Trip:

Yes, I was a part of history – or at least a comedy trivia history – when I went to Alderson to cover Martha Stewart’s release from the women’s prison that’s located there. It amazed me how this small town could retain its ubiquitous charm and character while being inundated with throngs of unscrupulous media-types (I, of which, was one). I spent one great afternoon swaying on a porch swing while interviewing the mayor and one equally great night learning to square dance at a local watering hole, before heading on back to the ONE suite at the local Super 8 motel.
